How do I get a copyright/patent?

I designed a logo and had some baseball cap made up with my logo embroidered. I am currently selling these hats on craigslist and other randoms place. I would like to have my design patented or copy written but I’m not sure how to go about it.

Patents are for inventions or processes and copyrights are for literary or music works…what you want is to register a trademark,
